How Does Online Study Work?
Self Directed Learning & Drop-in Sessions
At TMT, we’ve designed a completely self-directed learning experience that gives you the ultimate freedom to study on your terms, without sacrificing the hands-on training that’s essential for mastering makeup artistry.
Your learning journey is flexible. You will progress through theory modules and practical skills at your convenience via our online platform. To ensure you perfect your technique, all practical assessments must be recorded or scheduled and performed live in front of a teacher via video call. Please note: while practice work (practicals) can be completed on mannequins, all formal assessments must be completed on live models.
You are never learning alone. For real-time guidance and feedback, you can join our weekly virtual drop-in sessions every Monday evening (7-8pm AEST) or Friday afternoon (1-2pm AEST). If you need more dedicated support, you can also easily arrange one-on-one sessions with our educators to get help whenever you have questions.

FAQ
Yes! This course is self-directed and designed for complete flexability, meaning you can study part-time for 42 weeks or full-time for 20 weeks (+ breaks).
No prior experience is necessary. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to expand your skills, this course is designed to suit all levels.
For full-time study, this course requires approximately 30–35 hours of study per week. This includes 1 live on-campus class per-week, structured learning activities (such as homework and assignments), and preparation for assessments.
As makeup is a hands-on, practical discipline, you’ll need to complete practical exercises and gain real-world experience at home or in commercial settings.
Assessments include practical projects, quizzes, and assignments that demonstrate your Makeup skills and knowledge. Your trainer will provide feedback and support throughout the course.

Other Materials and Resource Costs
All students are required to purchase a Makeup kit from Kryolan Professional Make-up for $399. This is required to ensure we can provide quality training to all students.
Additional kits for Airbrushing and Hairstyling can be purchased from Kryolan, but aren’t required as equipment will be provided in class.

While workplace experience is valuable, it’s not mandatory as our students gain complete competency through:

For the Online Blended study, we offer students 10 days working with Kryolan Professional Make-up to refine their skills and expertise.
There is no actual cut-off date for domestic students to enrol for any of our courses, as all of our classes fill based on demand. We advise that anyone interested in studying with us enrol as soon as they can to avoid missing out on a place.
This depends largely on which courses you’re wanting to study.
If you’re interested in studying more than once course with us we offer discounts on tuition for multiple enrolments and up-front payments.
