ABOUT THE COURSE

Our course content selection provides you with the knowledge, attitude and skills to work in the hairdressing industry as a professional hairdresser. From day one you will develop a broad range of competencies, opening doors to the hairdressing industry – from providing advice on hair care, beauty products and hairstyles, shampooing hair and conditioning scalps, colouring, straightening and permanently waving hair with chemical solutions, cutting hair with scissors, clippers and razors, styling hair into dreadlocks and braids and adding hair extensions, shaving and trimming beards and moustaches, cleaning work areas and sanitising instruments, arranging appointments and collecting payments.
There is also demand for hairdressers to join other industries with cruise ships providing wonderful opportunities for travel, experience and growth.

To successfully complete this course, you will need to attend face-to-face classes for 2 days per week for 42 weeks. You will have off campus structured learning activities including homework, assignments, assessment preparation, practical salon work experience and online study. You will complete 26 units of study to gain Certificate III in Hairdressing.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No formal education requirements to enrol in course.
All courses at TMT are taught in English. Applicants will need to show evidence of suitable English proficiency for the course they have chosen. Students must have a minimum English language level of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

International Students must be at least 18 years of age.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Full time Duration: 12 months, Two days per week

Course fee is inclusive of supplies, materials and equipment required within the classroom.
Students are welcome to purchase a personal Hair Kit, which they can take home and use off-site and on-campus. An extensive kit is available to purchase at our supply partner for $2000 – $3000 (this kit is designed for TMT Students only).
The School requires a deposit and admin fee to be paid before enrolment into a course.
Fees can be paid by direct bank deposit. Payments must be calculated in Australian Dollars (AUD). Please contact the School for direct bank deposit details.

WORK PLACEMENT

Work experience provides you with exposure to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work experience is mandatory for this qualification as this is a highly practical course. We strongly recommend you undertake work experience with a suitable industry employer.You are responsible for arranging your own work experience. Our team will also offer support and guidance to assist you.
