The Diploma of Screen & Media reflects the role of individuals who have a theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialized, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work by themself and/or in a team, in the film, television, radio and interactive media industries.

About the course
Our course content selection provides you with the knowledge, attitude and skills to work in the entertainment industry as a professional makeup & hairstylist/designer or with our advanced course competency units, further, your skill set to work as a special effects artist/ designer. From day one you will develop a broad range of competencies, opening doors to the entertainment industry – from fashion and television to theatre or film! Even build your own bridal business, makeup artistry is a wonderful and ever-growing international business and as a TMT graduate through our quality training and industry work placement program, you’ll gain extensive experience and valuable contacts to give you the confidence to make your way in the creative world of Makeup Artistry. Be a part of our ever-growing Makeup Alumni, sharing work high lights and experiences from graduates to inspire and motivate current students.
We believe that gaining exposure to a wide range of styles and industries helps students find their niche. You will benefit from the guidance of your own personal tutor while learning about topics as diverse as High Fashion, Contemporary Bridal Makeup, and Special Effects and Prosthetics.
The course also covers Business and Marketing, including résumé skills and how to promote yourself through social media – essential skills for any modern freelancer. To help build your portfolio and document your improvement, we will photograph your work every day. There are no prerequisites for this course – just a love of makeup!

Entry Requirements
No formal education requirements to enrol in course.
To successfully complete this course, you will need to attend face-to-face classes for 2 days per week for 42 weeks for full time study or 2 evenings and 1 full day [usually Saturday] every 4 weeks for our blended mode study.
You will have off campus structured learning activities including homework, assignments, assessment preparation and on-line study. You will complete 15 units of study to gain the Diploma of Screen and Media.
Attendance Modes
- Full Time – 12 months, 2 full days on-campus learning
- Blended Mode – 12 months, 2 evenings per week and 1 full day [usually Saturday] every 4 weeks

Course fee is inclusive of supplies, materials and equipment required within the classroom.
Students are required to purchase a personal kit, which they can take home and use offsite and on-campus. An extensive kit is available to purchase from our partner brand Kryolan Professional Make-Up for $1,950.
The School requires a deposit and admin fee to be paid before enrolment into a course.

CUA51020 Diploma of Screen and Media (Specialist Make-up Services) is an Approved Course for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan (VSL). To apply for VET Student Loans (VSL), please check the eligibility and entry requirements or contact us.

Work placement
Our comprehensive work experience program forms an integral part of the course. It gives you the opportunity to explore different industries and learn from Makeup Professionals who are all highly regarded in their fields. You will gain hands-on experience in your desired field while building your network for future work. The success of this program is evidenced in the high number of TMT students who secure employment before finishing their studies.
